Crafts and a lucky mistake

I'm not finished with them yet, but I wanted to show you my crafts that I've been working on.

Here is my Green Eggs and Ham tray :)
I bought a tray from Joann's and then painted it...and drew and painted the pictures on it too!! I'm so in love with it...Hubs says that my fork isn't very forky...lol. I told him, that's ok, becaus it's Dr. Seuss! Nothing is perfect in Seussville, right?!
I just need to modge podge some words on it still...

I totally got the idea from THIS website. It's all things Seuss! lol....No, it's not my website - ha!

I was going to use it with A, but it's pretty thin, and she's a brute, so I know it'd be destroyed in a day...lol. So I'm going to take it to work with me.

And this is my chair for work... I've had this since BEFORE Christmas/baby was born and it's taken me the whole mat. leave to "finish" it...mainly because I don't know exactly what I want, so it's not actually finished. lol. I am going to put some sayings on the back I think...But I also feel like there needs to be more paint added...what do you think?? I'm just so scared of painting it because what if I don't like it?! lol My other problem is that I don't want it to be too seussy, so it'll fit in with the rest of the year (though it IS a reading chair, so it does kind of fit)...but the colors still go with my love for pirates...and ladybugs..lol

Remember, this was the $10 garage sale find that was yucky green with a yellow cushion.

And I want to tell you of my trip to Office Depot the other day.

I don't have the luxury of printing in color at school....shoot, our BW copies are being counted and rationed. lol...though it's no laughing matter - especially for the primary grades!

And I have an inkjet at home, so it's pointless for me to print in color at home.

So I go to OD to do my color printing.

Well, I had a whole bunch of things to print up, like 10 files, but I am frugal and only wanted  a few pages from each file. Some of them were like 80 pages long (like my Seuss centers)! No way would I print everything in all those files! Just the necessary pages that HAVE to be in color. :)

ANYway...they couldn't get the computers to send my files to the copiers. I was there for like 45 minutes! I was getting annoyed, B was getting hungry, and I was starting to get RUDE! lol

Finally, a manager came over and took my flashdrive and plugged it straight into the copier.

Thing was, they couldn't select pages to print, only entire documents....

So they printed EVERY. SINGLE. PAGE. in all 10 of those files!!! The manager just said to select all and print...in color...on cardstock! For the price I was going to pay....(and yes, I had it all written out and calculated already...because I'm OCD...wait - CDO! ha!)
(I got the CDO from Melanie, that is JUST PERFECT! lol...she's a new blog I just came across, so go check her out. she doesn't have a button for me to share though)

So THIS is what I came home with.....

That box was FILLED...lol. See the box on the left? That's what I've laminated so far...lol. I'm being choosy with what I'm laminating with my good lamination and what I want to laminate at work (our laminator at work is horrible!! Thin stuff that always scrunches or peels...boo!)

I'm not complaining - that's like 600 pages right there! lol (Do you see any of your stuff?!? lol) Wow. Lucky mistake...huh?

But I screwed myself.
I had a folder on my flashdrive that says "For Later"....they didn't print that stuff...DARN!
There's some BIG files in there too! lol

I have some yummy recipes to share with you this week!

One is a made-up recipe that I just invented for lunch...and the other is another sneaky recipe - with cookies! yum!

And hopefully, I'll be able to create another few things...I'm just waiting on some clip art :)

ummmm ... LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the tray!!! Even though I teach the older grades, we still dedicate a day to the good doctor, and I've encouraged (convinced) each of my girls to have a Dr. Seuss birthday party. I also LOVE the "lucky mistake" - wish one of those was in my future. I print so much off in colour that the hubby bought me a laser printer for Christmas last year ... and I'm STILL spending a fortune in ink / toner. I look at it as an occupational hazard.

Love the tray and the chair!!!
And tell Holly and Staci that you and me are supposed to be breakfast and coffee partners in the morning. Just saying. I will sit on the chair and we can have breakfast on the tray. How's that sound?

Every time I print a big file I imagine the Lorax is cringing. =) We are having a paper debate at school...we tried to cut down but need to laminate more. Now we're limited on laminate! Ugh! "They" just don't understand!

I love it! We have a terrible laminator at school too and it always peels off.
