Goals and Currently!

Before I start in on Farley's linky, I wanna talk "GOALS" with ya.

Not soccer goals.

Goals for your students.

And I'm not talking data, like for RTI.

No...something more FUN for them..lol.

Like A.R. (Accelerated Reader or if you do Reading Counts).

Each month my kids make goals for themselves. The first day of the month (like today), I print up what their points are and we discuss where they are versus where they SHOULD be...and then where they think they could get to by the end of the month.

If they make their goal, I have a prize for them. Sometimes, it's a nacho party..lol...or sometimes I have coupons for free ice cream or kids meal for local restaurants.

PLUS, our Media Specialist has an A.R. prize program...and every so many points, they get a prize.

Like, a bookmark, a reader's button (their picture on a button), on the A.R. wall of fame, a free book, etc...

I don't have the poster that shows all the prizes with me to post, but let me know if it's something you'd be interested in seeing.

I just finished making my picture-proof of how I teach for my PGP.
We're supposed to have proof of how we taught in regards to our PGP goals (ack! goals!), and I didn't keep extra copies of everything we did (umm....my copies are counted, WHY would I make extra?? lol), but I thought, HEY! I blog about everything, so I know I have pictures...

Once again, blogging saves the day!

Except, I don't have pictures of EVERYTHING...but at least something to show for it, right???

So I just added captions to the pictures and sent that to my AP...hopefully it'll work.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now onto the linky :)
Yes, I was typing and B was in my arms... I was "rocking" her to sleep and then I let her stay there for a little bit...make sure she is REALLY asleep (or, more like,  I want more cuddles! lol)
umm...beach weather - yes please! :) Have you seen the pix I've posted lately!
Hi, my name is Jennifer and I'm a clip art-oholic! lol
Speaking of which, did you know that Maree TrueLove is having a sale!???
Go check her out on her blog!
HERE is where you can read about the sale.
Make sure to follow her too :)
And yes, I have been biting my nails ever since I stopped sucking my thumb...I'm almost 30 and STILL biting my nails...it's so bad. I've tried EVERYTHING to stop biting them...I actually just called a
hypno-therapist. Hey, if hypnosis can work for smokers, why not nail biters??? I'll see...it's a pretty penny...and I have to make sure I have money for clip art! hahaha!!
And yes, I NEED to get more done in a day!! I know some of you think I'm already crazy, but add in the fact that I have a 3 month old and a 2 year old that both want me at the same time....yeesh!! Just tonight, I had B in one had, while I was cooking dinner and A was on the ground wrapping my legs in ribbon she found .... oh. my. gosh.  lol...all I could do was laugh!
Ok...
Need to know how to link up??
(Note - I know NOTHING about Macs, sorry!)
Tips...
1. Right click and copy
2. Open Power Point (or I use publisher) and insert (or paste) the image.
3. Create text-boxes and type in your answers.
4. Copy all (cntrl A) and paste into Paint
5. Save as a jpeg
6. Upload the image to your blog :)
K, now you can go link up!!
One last thing....
I'm one of those people who can NOT stand to be behind on things...but I am. I don't know how it happened.
But I'm going to have to hit "mark all as read" on all the 200 posts I haven't read.
I hate doing it. I do. I KNOW I'm missing some good stuff out there.....And I LOVE seeing all y'alls ideas! You make me a better teacher :)
Yikes...200 posts! I don't blame you ! Just make sure you don't miss out on the bunny hop blogs on TBA with all the freebies!
And I will stand up proudly next to you as a clip art addict. I just bought two more sets yesterday to get buy 2 get 1 free. I only needed 1 but since I was there...
And I already hit up Maree Truelove. *sigh* I walked away with a few things lol.
I'm just as behind, but trying hard to catch up with all of you while I'm off this week. Now...about the nail biting. Have you tried Mavala Stop? It looks like clear nailpolish, but it will definitely stop nail biting. It's for nail biting and thumb sucking. Our dentist recommended it for my daughter who sucked her thumb. The "taste" stays on for a couple weeks, but we never had to reapply it. Problem solved. Check it out on Amazon. :)
I feel the same way when I feel behind. Sometimes we just have to let go...and hitting "mark all as read" is the way we have to let go at times.
My google reader is struggling too. I think I'm going to have to do the same.
Oh and why in the word did you tell me about another clip art artist? That is the last thing I needed!!!!
I used to be a nail biter until one of my bottom teeth CHIPPED off!!!! NO JOKE!!!!!!! Dentist fixed it, I stopped chewing, I started chewing again, tooth flippin' chipped AGAIN! I've been "off nails" for a while now...and couldn't be happier!
So, answer me this - I don't even know how to read my stuff in Google Reader...I just go to my dashboard and read there. So I have no idea how many I've missed...is that bad?!?!
I bite my nails too, I can't stop. Well I did for like 1 month for my wedding, but that's it.
I have the same questions as Holly, I only read in my Dashboard!! I probably miss all kinds of good stuff!
Don't you tell your little ones to keep their hands out of their mouths????
Treat yourself to tips and then you can't bite them bc they will break your teeth....unless you have nails of steel like Holly up there....lol
side note-
I was sooo frustrated today!
I printed and cut out the majority of the Laura Numeroff centers...and our building is out of lamination!!! BLARG!!!
I don't bite my nails. But I pick my skin around the nails. Sometimes I'll pick it so much, it hurts and I have to wear bandaids. It's a terrible habit!! The hubby always threatens not to hold my hands because it's gross. So he says.
Your super power would be awesome!!!
I purposely did not take my laptop on vacation...there were 631 posts in the google reader when I got back! Got rid of about 200 with 'mark as read' and am s-l-o-w-l-y making my way through the rest.
Lucky you have nails to bite...mine are so brittle that passing out papers can cause breakage!
I totally bit my nails too! The are actually pretty bad right now as I watch myself type. I wonder if this is something past down from our parents??? Then it would be all there fault!! Darn mom and dad! Hehe
