First Grade ROCKED

The end is near!! It's crazy...'s a lot like Motherhood

The days are long, but the years are short.

Is that not the truth, or what?!

Well, the last week or so, we've been doing a lot of end of the year fun. We still have 3 days left, but I wanted to share with you one of my NEW favorite-ist thing ever to do at the end of the year.

Rock Guitars.

Oh. My. Lanta. They were so amazing. So beautiful. So fun. I love them!

Here's a close up of a few....

I gave them NO direction whatsoever. I just let them paint.  I drew a tracer guitar on a big 24x18 tagboard paper and then traced and cut them out for them. I let them choose which color they wanted. They colored the whole thing, then once they dried, I drew a circle and told them paint it black.

After that was dry, I took a chisel tip sharpie and drew the strings, and then let them add details to it.

We took individual pictures... SO perfect!! I had the kids bring in sunglasses, but I also had a stockpile from over the years that they could borrow.

Absolutely PERFECT.

Then we took a group picture. Oh Man. I can't get enough of it!

I made this sign with my cameo... the letters are the size of half of a piece of paper.

I made it to match the one I made in the beginning of the year... the pictures of my kids in the beginning of the year (you can see my post on the beginning of the year HERE)

I sent my parents (in our class shutterfly site) a before/after shot of our class using the signs.

I put them in the exact same order as the first picture. And yes, I just HAPPENED to be wearing the same dress. lol

So we "Rocked On!" on Thursday, and then on Friday, we had our Pirate day to end our Ocean Unit.

I love how some of my students got SO into the theme day! I really need to plan this better next year. It was SO last minute, but I realized I hadn't done it yet this year, so I had to squish it in!

Sadly, I didn't get any pictures of our day... really?? I guess that's what happens when you're having fun. haha

THREE. More. Days.
