Housekeeping

It has come to my attention that Google is "deleting" their Friends+ thingy....I don't how that will affect me/us!! I'm really tech-illerate. Seriously, I know how to click and make things happen, but I don't get all this jargon (I need lessons from Reagan's genius 10 year old! lol).

So help me out here.

Since I can't follow y'all by clicking your "follow me" buttons, I have to physically copy and paste your blog link (I totally just typed that word as blink! lol) into my "subscribe" box in google reader. That's the only way I have gotten it to work - and stay working. Otherwise, you guys never show up in my blogger dashboard. I just have to read everything in google reader. It's all good. I don't mind.

So now....will this affect me? Will I lose all of you!?! I don't wanna lose you!! I'm almost to 400!! lol (How in the WORLD did that ever happen!? I STILL get totally excited when I see my follower numbers go up in both my blog and TpT store...lol. "They like me! They REALLY like me!!" lol)

Next....

So, I did a post a while ago about being able to reply to your comments....NOT on the actual blog, but by email. You know how you get notifications in your email that you have received a comment? Well, you can actually reply to THAT email and it'll go to the person who commented - in THEIR email...as long as they have it set up that way.

I have a *few more followers since I did that post, and some of you new ones, I can't reply to because THIS is what I see when I try to


 and I can't get the reply thingy to work on my blog, so....

OMGOSH!! FINALLY! Replying to comments

Sorry for the two posts in one day, but I JUST HAD TO DO THIS ONE!

ok...so a few posts ago, I told everyone how I REALLY do try to respond to EACH and EVERY comment because I love how you take the time to comment, so I want to repay the favor. Well, I usually do it from  my email...you know? Like how when you get a comment on one of your posts, you get an email with the actual comment in it? You can just hit reply and email your response back to them and it goes to their emails. I do this instead of having to make a comment on a blog post (either mine where they commented or theirs). I have noticed that A LOT of you have the "no-reply" in your "email address" when I go to respond, which means you never get my response :( boo hoo
WELL, one of my fave blogs, The Nest Effect, JUST POSTED their directions on how to change this! I have been looking for this for a good while...but {HERE} is that post. But I'm going to go ahead and copy and paste their post for you here so you don't HAVE to go there to get the directions...(but still do go check them out - it's a great site!).

This is what I get when I try to reply to a comment without a linked email address: noreply-comment@blogger.com. Boo! 

If you comment with your Google account, then it will make you "sign up for Blogger" before leaving your first comment. This doesn't mean you have to create a blog or anything, it just means you have to create a profile with Blogger so you can comment with your Google account. You can change all of the profile details to make it as anonymous as you'd like once you create the profile.

Once you sign up for Blogger, you'll need to go to www.blogger.com to edit your profile.

Then you'll need to click "show my email address" and "save profile". You can change the email address that is associated with this feature on this page as well - under "identity" and "email address". You can always use your "junk mail" account or set up an email with Gmail for this.

Your email address will not literally show up in your Blogger profile. It will show like this:

When you leave a comment for me, I receive an email with your comment, and your email address will automatically be the "reply to" email (if you go through these steps and enable this feature). Pretty simple.

All in all, I'd really like to be able to respond to each one of you. You can always leave your email address in the comment for me like this: tiffany (at) thenesteffect.com. That way it can't be picked up by spam bots because it's not technically a real email typed like that.
