Today's the first in this summer's Wish List Wednesday! With this summer series, each Wednesday, I'll look to see which of my items in my TpT store has been put in your wishlist the most! Then I'll do a giveaway and put that item on sale. The giveaway will only last Wednesday and the sale will end Friday.
First up... My Vocabulary Journals!
Every year, this is on my list of things to get done before I leave for summer vacation. I blogged about everything I try to get done {HERE} if you want to see everything else I get ready. I like to send this off to our print shop in our district. I like for them to copy them and spiral bind them. And it's WAY cheaper than going to an office supply store.
I've blogged about them before {HERE}.
So here is what's included...
Here's a close up of how it's used. This is the 2nd grade version (when I taught 2nd), there are different writing lines for the 1st grade and Kinder kids if you need those lines!
So enter below in the rafflecopter! Remember, the giveaway is only for Wednesday and the sale ends Friday!

We don't have a set number of vocabulary words per week. It depends on the story we are currently working on.
We use the 8 vocabulary words from our Journey's series. I velcro them on a strip of duct tape on a cabinet wall. We try to use them throughout the week in conversation, and find them in our DEAR books. Love the journal, so students could refer to them all year long!
I have never taught a set number of words per week, I had always used words from my read aloud to teach weekly.

We have the reading series, Journeys, which has 8 words/weel. However, we usually pull vocab words from the thematic read alouds throughout each theme. Thanks for the opportunity to win!
When I taught Kindergarten we just chose words from our read aloud and other shared literature. There was no specific set of words. I will be teaching first grade next year and we are starting a new series - Making Meaning. Not sure yet how they will roll out vocabulary. :)
I used to choose words from reading but since we now do Daily 5/CAFE and students are reading their own books it's a little trickier. I have the students find words in their own reading now. This product would be perfect to use with reader's notebooks! I also have them find words that connect with a pattern or part of speech we might be studying. Love the linky too! Thanks!

I always find myself not doing enough with vocabulary! This would be perfect and its so age appropriate! Thanks!!!

I'll be teaching3rd this year so it's roughly 13.
We study 6 words a week, usually taken from one particular story (so in context). This notebook would encourage doing much more!
We do not have a set number of words that we use per week. We use the words that go with our thematic units.
I teach first and we use between 5 - 10 vocabulary words each week. We use words from our weekly story in our reading series. I also have math vocabulary for each topic (May last longer than a week). We rotate science and social studies weekly so there are vocabulary words weekly for those areas as well.
Actually, I haven't covered vocabulary in a formal manner in my K classroom, but my principal has challenged us to step up our focus on vocabulary in every subject area and plans to offer PD on this subject in the coming school year. So, this resource couldn't be more perfect for my students! :)
Not entering to win because I already have this and it's fantastic!!! My firsties felt like "big kids" having a vocabulary journal and we used it all of the time. :)
Wow!! Another great product!! I have been looking for a new way for teaching vocabulary in my first grade classroom and it looks like I've found it!!
We do not have a certain number of words a week. I usually use spelling and reading words as my vocabulary. This product would add some life into learning and using vocabulary. Thanksfor the giveaway!
We do 7-10 words/week from what we read. We are thinking about starting Daily 5.
We typically do 8-9 per week. Sometimes they are the same as our spelling words, but not always.
My vocabulary words come from my reading program. There are usually 6-8 words each week.
