Stellaluna SWBSF Freebie!

OK....

So....

some of us were talking one day...

and I showed them how I was ready for my bat unit...

Can I tell you??

a paper cutter is THE best investment (besides, of course the laminator)..and this is a cheapy one from Walmart (eek! don't tell on me that I went there one day..lol)

Once I started cutting with this, the time I spent cutting out stuff was cut into THIRDS...lol...

yes, we DO have paper cutters at work, but when I bring stuff home, print up and laminate at home, this is MUCH more convenient....

besides...ours at work are pretty dull...so I don't do my good stuff there...

Anyway...back to the post...

so, we haven't even SCRATCHED the surface with bats this week - it is TOTALLY going into next week...

BUT, we did do some reading response activities.

We did the "SWBSF" activity in my All About Bats unit...

I NEVER knew about this until I started blogging... and OMGosh!!

It. is. uh-ma-zing!!!  so simple. yet so effective.

Then, I taught them how to take THAT information and make a paragraph....

It's a work-in progress...

 they have such a hard time with writing...

So, everyday after lunch, I have to have my chocolate...

it helps me to not binge on the junk food...ok??

Anyway, so I ate TWO Dove candies...

the OH SO DELICIOUS chocolate??

uhhhhhhhh.....(envision Homer like drooling)

anyway, so I ate my TWO pieces...

and they BOTH said the SAME thing!! 

Think someone is trying to tell me something??

Well, my friends...

I AM going to do something for myself...

I'm doing the MUD RUN this weekend!!!

So excited!!

Some girl friends and I are doing it - and my hubs is doing it too!!

I'm totally going to kick his booty!! lol

I totally will - he may be a man...and a firefighter...but I WILL beat him!! haha!!

So tomorrow is a student holiday - teacher inservice day...my oh my, wouldn't I just LOVE to have an entire day to work in my room???

yeah.

Going Batty!

Oh my gosh guys...I know I say this EVERY time...but seriously, I think I just made one of my favorite packs ever! lol

Last week was Spiders, which we will be continuing throughout next week, JUST because there was NO way we could finish them, and the kids LOVED it, so I just HAVE to finish our writing.

BUT, we will also be starting in on our Bats unit.

This unit combines non-fiction books (whichever are your favorite) and Stellaluna - 

an obvious match!

This unit is jammed packed!

Included in this 66 page unit:

an antonyms center - 3 different options - matching, concentration, or read the room. I have also included a poster for defining antonyms to put at the center.

a parts of speech center - with the option to do nouns and verbs or nouns, verbs, and adjectives, with two different types of recording sheets to fit your students' needs. I have also included a poster for defining nouns, verbs, and adjectives to put at the center.

a homophones center - 3 different options - matching, concentration, or read the room, with a recording sheet and the option to illustrate a pair of homophones. I have also included a poster for defining homophones to put at the center.
