Dusting off the Cameo

I have been bitten by the crafting bug again! I have been wanting to redo the girls's room, but I could NOT come up with a "theme." I just knew that I did NOT want to do a character or anything because those go out as quickly as they came in...

Well, a while ago, I was perusing Pinterest....and I came across THIS

It's for a birthday party...but I just FELL IN LOVE....it was love at first sight. Check out the pin HERE. That was going to be my color scheme....So, I was on a mission...paint the walls that light coral color, (got the paint...just haven't painted)...

Find white furniture for the girls...found some beds on craigslist - check!

The thing that was really stumping me was that I wanted the teal/seafoam QUILT...not a comforter...and I didn't want it frilly...just a plain ole cute quilt...well...I found it!  So now I'm all gung-ho about finishing up their room...(even though B is still in a crib so it's going to take away a little bit from the look when it's finished.)

I had this really cute idea I wanted to do for "Art" for their room...so last night I was mixin' colors to make coral (believe it or not, I couldn't find shades of coral in the paint aisle).

Just LOOK at those colors together - I'm in LOVE!!!

So today, I dusted off the good 'ole Cameo!!

And I went to Micheal's to get a few last minute things for the project...and while I was there, I stocked up on cardstock because they were having a sale!!

(this isn't even all of it...shhh...don't tell the Mr!)

And after MANY trials and errors....and MANY texts to my friends for "what do you thinks,"

I FINALLY finished!!

I used a "pearl" white paper for the letters and a slight-chevron paper for the sun.

I'm in LOVE!!!!  THIS makes me happy!!!

This is the song that I sing to them ALL the time...so much that even B can "sing it" to me now! Be still, my heart.

I made it all on my Cameo, so nothing for you to print out, BUT, here are the "numbers" if you want to make it your own

And the shapes for the sun, I just made them...here are the sizes for the boxes....

Use whatever you paint colors and cardstock you want...cut out, and modge-podge, and tada!!!

More FL Fun...and a freebie!

Hey friends!!  I've been SOOOO enjoying my summer vacation!! We aren't going on a BIG vacation this summer, but we're doing a LOT of little things around here in the great state of FL...

We've already done Sea World...and a few other fun things here and there, but last weekend, we went to a wine festival!!

Here's me and hubs at the winery...can you see the HILLS!? haha...yes..it's like a different country in this area of FL...it's got HILLS!

This winery is so fun!! We did a winery tour and then a wine tasting.....it was SOOO yummmy!

I only bought two bottles...I clearly didn't think about that...lol...

We did some wine stomping...

It was a competition, and I actually WON! woo!!!

And then Autumn wanted to do it so her and daddy did it....

and we must be a family of winners...because Autumn won too!! woo!!

If you've been following my instagram, you know I've been taking a workshop this week...

We've been REALLY using our brains and thinking super hard!! haha

No seriously....My mind has been going a million miles a minute thinking of all the ways I could incorporate and change things in my class...I LOVE when I LOVE workshops! This one is all about cooperative learning...using a lot of Kagan strategies. I've had Kagan training before, but it was like 8 years ago, and I've grown SO much in my teaching in the last few years, that I wanted a refresher so that I could adapt it my teaching - how i teach NOW....I am LOVING it!

BONUS??? On the way home, I can go the OTHER way, and hit up my one of my favorite lunch spots AND the beach...so

But I have also been "working".... from my workshop this week, I've learned about how important it is to TEACH about emotions...and I think it's especially important to teach about emotions in a Title I school. SO, I made this little diddy...

Go and download it for FREE from TpT....

I hope you're enjoying your summer!

First Day of Summer Fun!

Hi friends!!

I. AM. EXHAUSTED.

Those are the only words for it.

Today, I dropped B off with the babysitter and I took A to Sea World with some of our friends! It was a lot of fun! We used to go all the time, but I think it's been about a year since the last time we've gone...but I think after today, that'll have to change :)

Feeding the sting rays

riding a giant squid!

me and my girl! (it was SO hot!) lol

SO COOL!

Anyway... Yesterday, I posted about my new pack (and THANK you for all the awesome feedback already - that makes my heart so happy!). I had a few people asking for more details on what's included in my interactive, Hands-On Dictionary and Phonics Notebook...

Someone asked for more detail of what's in the pack...without showing EVERY 120 pages of it. I tried to lay out a map of each section without making it too cluttered for ya...
Now, this is just the first 2 sections of the phonics notebook...AND it's still only PART of each of those sections.  EACH sound has it's own book insert and title card...and for each of the rules for the sounds, there are subtitle cards (example...for long a there are subtitle cards for ai, ay, and a_e). OR each section (like short vowel and long vowel and blends, etc) have the option of doing a Big Book insert with the subtitle cards...You can use ONLY what you will teach through the year....

This is NOT a phonics "program,"or suggestion for a phonics continuum. BUT, I do have my Spelling Throughout the Year  packs (Grade 2 and Grade 1) that would go GREAT with this notebook!

I hope that helps!!

Last on the agenda??

Yesterday, I told you that I had a surprise for you...welllllll....it's OFFICIALLY the first day of summer! SO, I'm going to start doing Summer Daily Deals!!

In order to find out the daily deals, make sure you are a facebook fan! Starting tomorrow, I'll post the daily deal on my Facebook page...it's just easier to do it over there, and I don't want to bog up the blog with the SDD....sooo....before we get started....here's the dealio....

Each day the deal will be posted when I wake up in the morning (which, is pretty early since I have my lovely A and B girls - ha!), and since I'm on Eastern time, I'll keep the deal up until I wake up the next morning....IF I have a busy day and leave it up an extra amount of time, then woo!! But please don't ask me to extend the sale! (I'm a teacher...and I know...when I do it for one, I KNOW more of you will come out of the woodworks - ha!).  Also, what if you JUST bought that?! Well.....that happens to me ALL the time! grrr....

What are the deals??
Who knows?! ha! Whatever I feel like.... I might even do a BOGOfree deal! You'll just have to tune in to find out.

Ok, I hope that covers it.  See you tomorrow in the A.M! I'm off to watch the DVR.

I super love it and I hope you do too!!! I'm so glad I finished it today because tomorrow, "A" and I are headed to Sea World with some friends, so I was giving myself a deadline...woo!!

Check out my post on how we put it together in class! It's a little messy to do it, but it's SO worth it!

****Update****

Two more chevron colors!

So today, we went to the zoo. We've been a tons of times. A loves it! But we haven't really been since B's been able to participate and kind of KNOW what's going on. It was fun!!

Those are just a few pictures. They also fed the deer and the birds...and the water at the end was SO needed - it's hot here! ha!

Well, the real reason for me being here, is to show you a few more classroom packs...

I had a few different requests for color schemes. I figured since they were all color schemes I would use in my room, why not do them? lol Make my job harder when it comes to deciding which back I want to use! ha! So here are the newest color schemes:

Each pack contains TEN files:
(yes, I've added and changed a few things, so if you've already bought these, go back and download the newest version!)

1) Alphabet, a set with 1 card on a page and a one page alphabet chart, which would be great for centers! There are pictures for the letters that have double sounds (hard/soft letters ans long/short vowels).

2) World Wall Letters - the vowels are different color letters and background

3) Numbers 1-180. Count up the days of school! There is one complete set with the same background. There is a 2nd set that starts at 5 and counts by fives, a 3rd set that starts at 10 and counts by tens, and 4th set that counts by 2s. You can use these for 100s charts, or a sequencing math center as well!

4) Calendar - Month and Days of the week header cards, which can also be used as a sequencing activity in a center! Today is/Yesterday was/ Tomorrow is charts, and a place value chart for the day of the year.

5) Name tags and pockets - There are 2 different versions of the name tags, and 6 different versions of the pockets.

6) Number posters 1-30 with the word, number, and ten frame

7) Job chart - a ready made version, or a blank one for you to write in your own jobs.

8) an EDITABLE version of the Job Chart

9) Centers number labels - there are 2 sets; one for reading and math. There are small labels and big ones. There is also a page that describes how I organize and do centers!

10) an EDITABLE version of the center labels so you can label them how you like!
In each file there is a "Teacher Tips" page where I explain how to use each file and organization tips!!

AND, I've also made another version...blue and green!!!

Now, I'm not sure....which one should I use!? Because I still REALLY like my first one I made this week...

OH! Winner of this Teal and Gray pack is....

In case you're interested, I still have my packs from last summer that I made...Beach and Pirate themed!

Ok...that's the end. Have a great night everyone!

Teal and Gray Chevron!

I'm in love....I started out making a blue/teal/aqua pack for my room next year...BUT, it ended up being THIS!

I am in love....I love for my room to be a calming place - my kids are wild enough, haha....but I tend to go the calming route. I am realllllly liking this new color combo....seriously. I don't know if I'm going to make another pack or not. I usually change my mind a bazillion and one times (am I alone in that?!), but I don't know this time...lol

Take a peak at what's included!

Father's Day Kids' Crafts!

Hi everyone! I am just dropping in to share a little diddy I made for Father's Day. The hubs is really into art...so I like to do artsy things for him.

Yes, I know. Father's Day is tomorrow. But I work best under pressure. AND, Autumn actually DID do a father's day project for daddy. I took her to the pottery place the other so she could paint something... she picked out some gnomes....and she did really well!!

look how they came out (this is before they've gone into the kiln). hehehe...do you think she's trying to tell me what she thinks of her sister?? She painted her green - like an ogre.  I know B can be a little Shrek-like at times, but really?? lol! Ron is going to get a kick out of it though.

BUT, they're not going to be ready in time. SO, I made this cute little page, and then did a hand print from each girl.

If you want the print out click {HERE}

I leave you with THIS post I want you to read! It's 20 Things Every Parent Should Hear. I love it.
PLEASE click on it and read it. Even if you're not a parent yet, it is great for teachers too!

Happy Saturday!
